Just doing my spring cleanup on the boat and used Clorox Cleanup my wifey swears by it and man it does a awesome job on the over winter mildew. Does anyone have a suggestion on getting rid of the Rust stains?

Generally the rust stains from metal you can get off with light pressure and BarKeeper on a scoring pad. Be sure to buff a little wax on after cleanup.

Tougher stuff you might want to try muratic acid (use with caution) or SnoBowl (if you can find it).

I like and use Barkeepers Friend. If you have heavy rust stains just make a paste out of water and BKF and let it sit for a few minutes. Then use a brush or scouring pad. Muratic acid and Snobowl scares me. It is a little too aggressive.

If the BKF dosen't clean up the rust then I would try some 1000 wet/dry sand paper. Use it with a little soapy water and lightly rub the rust away.

I use FSR, a blue gel. sometimes it takes two applications, but all you do is brush it on, let it sit, and wash it off. No abrasives.

Be careful using SnoBowl, it will stain older Gel-coat. Leaves a blue stain.
