Swivel mount for sure. If you can, mount them far enough forward so that the end of your boom is inside the boat when they are swung aft.
Boom length is another consideration. I've got the 4' booms which is about the longest you'll find. Slow trolling for kings at 1-2 mph straight out 90 degrees no problem but you don't want to do any fast trolling with them like that.
Line capacity for SE Georgia isn't an issue for my boat.
Cable vs Mono - I've always run cable but others swear by mono. Never had to change the cable and never lost a ball.
Manual vs Electric - I never perceived the need nor never had the wallet strength for electrics but I can see a whole lot of advantages. Guess corrosion and battery drain are something to consider but someone else will have to clue you in on that.
I've have nothing but Penns and been happy with them but they ain't cheap.

i HAVE A SET OF cANNON UNITROLL WITH THE 4FT BOOM AND THE SWIVEL MOUNTS AND THEY ARE MOUNTED ON THE GIMBLE MOUNTS THAT GO RIGHT IN YOUR ROD HOLDERS. i USED THEM TWICE AND THEY HAVE THE MONO OVER THE TOP OF THE CABLE. i THINK NEW YOU WOULD BE LOOKING AT $400 each .I wouldn't mind getting rid of them. I dont slow troll at all. 912-663 8488 call me if you are interested.

I have Penn FathomMasters on my boat. Def. the introductory downriggers. Think you will have to sacrifice the swivel but I believe it can be converted. Mine have worked fine for awhile with no problems and you can't beat the cost. I have seen them on Ebay for less than $200 for the pair before.

Thanks for the heads up. I happened to luck up with a person I work with who no longer fishes and had an Easy Troll with mounts, base and weights all ready to go never used.
Now I need to get out and use it.
